Both Abington Heights teams secured Lackawanna League championships and their closest pursuers won Ed Narkiewicz Wyoming Valley Conference Coaches Championship meet titles, protecting the top of the Century Dental Associates Cross Country Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
The rankings were moved to a new weekly release day of Sunday with the golf and girls tennis rankings done for the season.
Top teams performed well in big meets, leading to minimal movement this week.
Both Abington Heights teams picked up three wins in a cluster meet, including the girls winning easily in a meeting of unbeatens, and completed perfect league seasons to hold the No. 1 positions.
The Crestwood boys, the regular-season co-champions, and Dallas girls, unbeaten champions during the conference season, won the titles at the Narkiewicz Meet and remained No. 2.
Five teams gained one spot this week, led by the Crestwood girls moving into third.
The Lady Comets followed up a second-place WVC finish by taking third in the Narkiewicz Meet. They replaced Montrose, which suffered its first loss against Abington Heights, in third.
The Holy Redeemer and North Pocono girls, as well as the Scranton and Valley View boys, also moved up.
Honesdale remained third in the boys rankings.
The Hornets are followed by Scranton, which picked up three more wins, finished 21-2 in the Lackawanna League and traded places with Holy Redeemer after the Royals took fourth at the Narkiewicz Meet.
Lake-Lehman, Berwick and Elk Lake remained in the sixth-through-eighth positions.
Valley View gained one spot into ninth, trading places with Pittston Area.
Dallas and Scranton Prep held 11th and 12th.
Scranton, Honesdale and Lake-Lehman held steady in the fifth, sixth and seventh spots in girls.
Holy Redeemer passed Wallenpaupack into eighth.
North Pocono swapped positions with Wyoming Area, taking over 10th.
Delaware Valley held onto 12th.
