Ciera Toomey came off the bench to score a season-high 15 points, 13 of them in the first half, Monday night to lead the way as Dunmore clinched its 10th straight Lackawanna League Division 3 girls basketball title with a 61-24 rout of visiting Old Forge.
The three-time all-state selection and University of North Carolina commit made her sixth and longest appearance as she works her way back from reconstructive knee surgery.
Toomey had seven points as Dunmore overcame 3-pointers from three different Old Forge players for a 14-10 lead after one quarter.
The Lady Bucks ran away from there.
Toomey and Jackie Brown had six points each in a 22-3 second quarter for a 36-13 halftime lead.
Brown had 10 of her 12 points in the first half.
Sophia Talutto joined them in double figures with 10 points and Trista Canavan had 9.
Jewlya McCullon made two 3-pointers to finish with seven points.
Dunmore improved to 11-0 in the division with one game remaining. The Lady Bucks are 18-3 overall and leading Lake-Lehman in a close race for the top seed in the District 2 Class 3A semifinals.
The Lady Bucks, ranked second behind Lake-Lehman among Small School girls teams in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Basketball Power Rankings of District 2 teams, complete their regular season at home Wednesday at 7:15 against Carbondale.
