Mia Snyder made sure Montrose got off to a strong start Friday night and finished with 20 points as the Lady Meteors locked up their first trip to Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza by defeating visiting Holy Cross, 46-28, in a District 2 Class 2A girls basketball semifinal.
Snyder scored 20 points, including 10 in the first quarter when the Lady Meteors took a 12-6 lead.
Montrose, the Lackawanna League Division 4 champion and the tournament’s top seed, will play Old Forge in the March 3 championship game.
The Lady Meteors opened their lead to 25-10 at halftime with the help of Paley Adams scoring six of her nine points during the second quarter.
Snyder had six more points in the third quarter, offsetting Abby Thompson scoring the same for Holy Cross and helping to keep Montrose in command, 38-21.
Giuliana Mazza and Thompson each scored 10 points for Holy Cross.
Montrose is 19-4. Third-seeded Old Forge brings an 11-12 record into the final.

Old Forge 49, Lackawanna Trail 47
Leah Domiano’s 3-pointer with seven seconds left lifted visiting Old Forge over second-seeded Lackawanna Trail to complete a comeback from an 11-point halftime deficit.
Domiano’s 3-pointer was the ninth of the game and fifth of the fourth quarter by the Lady Devils. It gave Old Forge a 48-47 lead.
The 3-point shooting allowed Old Forge to overcome a 28-point effort by Lackawanna Trail’s Mackenzie Schirg.
Jewlya McCullon went 10-for-12 from the line while leading the Lady Devils with 18 points.
Domiano added 11 points. She hit three 3-pointers while McCullon, Bella Nee and Lauryn Olivieri made two each.
