James Pettinato scored 7 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter Thursday night as Scranton Prep avenged an earlier upset loss by defeating visiting Honesdale, 61-50, in a District 2 Class 4A boys basketball quarterfinal.
Pettinato went 4-for-5 from the line in the fourth quarter as part of an 11-for-12 effort by the team to put the game away.
Brycen Martin made three 3-pointers while scoring 11 in the win.
Keith Pritchyk scored 10 points.
Roman Valvano was 4-for-4 from the line in the fourth to finish with eight points. Ambrose Rossi also had eight points, including five in the fourth quarter.
Karter Kromko scored 17 of his 20 points in the second half to lead Honesdale, which finished 7-16.
Second-seeded Scranton Prep (14-9) advances to host third-seeded Nanticoke (16-8) Saturday at 2 p.m.
The top four seeds all advances.

Nanticoke 58, Wyoming Area 51
Jaidyn Johnson scored 32 points, including 21 while the Trojans were overcoming a halftime deficit.
Johnson made four 3-pointers.
Jordan Ibn-Thomas added 11 points in the win.
Dane Schutter led Wyoming Area with 19 points.
Lukas Burakiewicz made four 3-pointers for 12 points.
Burakiewicz had two 3-pointers and Tyler Sciandra one in the first quarter when the Warriors took a 15-8 lead.
Nanticoke closed to within 23-21 at halftime.
Valley View 54, Berwick 42
Top-seeded Valley View fought off a challenge from Berwick, pulling away from a three-point game after three quarters.
Taheed Jewell who grabbed 7 rebounds, and A.J. Kucharski scored 16 points each.
Eli Yusavage added 12 points while Kyle Rupp had 12 rebounds to go along with 6 points.
Kucharski and Jewell each had six points in the first quarter. Yusavage had six in the fourth while the Cougars were putting the game away to improve to 20-3 and set up Saturday’s 2 p.m. home game with Tunkhannock (13-10).
Billy Hanson led Berwick with 13 points. Sean Murphy and Matt Lonczynski added 10 points each.

Ben Chilson scored 20 points to lead the Tigers to the victory.
