Victoria Watkins from West Scranton placed 21st in girls diving for the highest finish by a District 2 competitor in Class 3A Wednesday and Thursday in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships at Bucknell University.
None of the Class 3A entries from District 2 finished in the top 16. The top eight earn state medals and the top 16 score points for their teams.
Watkins was 21st of 24 and Delaware Valley’s Zac Madewell was 23rd of 24 in diving.
The best swimming finish came in the boys 400-yard freestyle relay where Hazleton Area placed 26th out of 32 with the team of Thomas Pollock, Antonio Daiute, Liam Leonard and Logan Yakubowski.
