One week after slipping in the rankings, Wyoming Seminary and Scranton Prep are back on the rise in the latest Riverfront Sports Girls Lacrosse Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
The new rankings were posted Tuesday morning.
Wyoming Seminary and Scranton Prep are tied for third in the Wyoming Valley Conference standings behind Crestwood and Lake-Lehman, the two teams that held down first and second in this week’s rankings.
Crestwood remained unbeaten in the WVC with three wins, two romps and a 12-11 overtime victory over Scranton Prep.
Lake-Lehman won four times by a total of 82-10, including halting Wyoming Area’s 10-game unbeaten streak with an impressive, 13-5 victory.
Wyoming Seminary moved to third, one week after having dropped from second to fourth.
The Blue Knights split two games with the loss coming outside District 2 against Danville.
Wyoming Area slipped from third to fourth after splitting two WVC games.
Scranton Prep used a strong week to return to the rankings in the fifth and final spot, bumping Abington Heights, the team that had knocked out the Classics a week earlier, despite the Comets continuing a winning streak.
The Classics went 3-1 in the week with the loss coming in the overtime game against Crestwood.
Abington Heights won twice and now has a five-game winning streak in which it has outscored opponents, 87-26.
