Berwick, Holy Redeemer, Pittston Area and Lake-Lehman all posted sweeps in Wyoming Valley Conference girls volleyball Wednesday.
Cece Isenberg had 15 kills and 7 digs as Berwick, the No. 2 team in the Electric City Volleyball Elite Eight Power Rankings of District 2 teams, improved to 3-0 overall by winning its WVC opener over No. 7 Crestwood, 25-11, 25-13, 25-14.
Morgan Nevel had 25 assists, 13 service points, 6 aces and 9 digs in the win. Camille Pinterich added 10 points, 7 digs and 5 aces. Claire Riera-Romez had nine points, five digs and three aces.
First-place Holy Redeemer improved to 3-0 when it routed Wyoming Valley West, 25-7, 25-6, 25-20.
Lainey Conway had 23 points and 2 digs. Olivia Bilbow had 18 points, 13 assists, 5 aces and 4 kills. Abby Williams had seven kills and six points. Mia Ashton added five kills.
Jess Ostrowski had 18 assists, 18 points and 8 aces when Pittston Area went to Wyoming Area and beat its rival, 25-12, 25-13, 25-10.
Olivia Walter added 11 points, 9 aces and 4 kills. Emma Rinaldi had five kills.
Katie Rowlands had four assists and two blocks for Wyoming Area.
Ella Wilson had 16 service points, including 9 aces, as Lake-Lehman pummeled Hanover Area, 25-4, 25-4, 25-9.
In the only other match, Dallas outlasted Tunkhannock in a meeting of teams in the Electric City Volleyball Academy Elite Eight Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
Dallas opened a two-set lead with consecutive 25-21 sets, but missed a chance at a sweep when Tunkhannock took the extended third set, 32-30. Tunkhannock tied the match by taking the fourth set, 25-23, but Dallas won the deciding fifth set, 15-6.
