Lackawanna Trail held Nanticoke scoreless over the final three quarters Friday night to pull out a 14-6, home-field win in the non-league football game.
The Lions have allowed just 27 points, second-lowest in District 2 during a 3-0 start.
Lackawanna Trail scored on the game’s seventh play when Stephen Jervis hit Evan Litwin a step behind the defense on a post pattern for a 37-yard touchdown.
Nanticoke (1-2) tied the game, 6-6, before the first quarter was over on a 5-yard run by Payton Kepp.
Hunter Patterson took a Jervis screen pass 25 yards, then Max Kimmel ran 14 yards for the tie-breaking, third-quarter touchdown two plays later. Jervis connected with Patterson again on the-point conversion.
