Andrew Summa intercepted three passes and sophomore quarterback Louis Paris scored two second-half touchdowns Friday night when the visiting Cavaliers knocked off defending champion Delaware Valley, 20-13, in a Lackawanna Football Conference Division 1 game.
The Cavaliers rallied from a 13-point, third-quarter deficit to hand Delaware Valley its first LFC Division 1 loss in more than four years.
Both teams leave the game with 1-1 division records. Scranton Prep is 2-3 overall and Delaware Valley is 1-4.
Scranton Prep ended a 13-game divisional winning streak by Delaware Valley, the three-time defending champion. The Warriors last lost in 2018 when they dropped their first two LFC Division 1 games to eventual champion Wallenpaupack and North Pocono.
The game was scoreless until a little more than a minute remained in the first half.
Logan Olsommer hit Aiden Black with a 10-yard touchdown pass to give the Warriors a 7-0 halftime lead.
Ryder Machado broke a 65-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter for the 13-0 lead.
Paris broke the shutout with a 1-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter.
Quenten Palermo ran 12 yards for a touchdown with 33 seconds left in the quarter and Raymond Rinaldi added the second of his three extra points to put the Cavaliers in front, 14-13.
Scranton Prep had five interceptions in the game, including one in Delaware Valley territory to set up the last score, a 30-yard touchdown run by Paris with less than five minutes remaining.
The interceptions wiped out a large advantage in total offense for Delaware Valley.
Machado finished with 140 yards rushing. He also led the defense with seven tackles and five assists.
Black had 5 catches for 67 yards. He also produced two sacks on defense.
Logan Olsommer went 11-for-18 for 129 yards passing.
