Scranton Prep used its District 2 Class 2A championship match victory over Wyoming Seminary to take over the No. 1 Small School spot in the final Riverfront Sports Super Six Girls Tennis Power Rankings of district teams this season.
The final rankings were released Monday morning with the district singles tournament just underway.
Team play is complete for all but the two district champions – Big School No. 1 Abington Heights and Scranton Prep. They play the first round of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association state tournament Oct. 25. The final three rounds are in Hershey Oct. 28-29.
Wyoming Seminary and Scranton Prep, the two unbeaten league champions, were 1-2 among Small Schools all through the season. Their swap of positions was the only change from the previous week for the final rankings.
District 2 Class 3A finalist Wallenpaupack is No. 2 behind Abington Heights. Those two are followed, in order, by West Scranton, Crestwood, Scranton and Valley View in the Big School rankings.
Scranton Prep and Wyoming Seminary are followed in Small Schools by Dallas, Wyoming Area, Tunkhannock and North Pocono.
