Freshman Jaden Shedlock needed just 5 carries to run for 230 yards and 2 touchdowns Nov. 4 when top-seeded Crestwood opened the District 2 Class 4A playoffs with a 61-7 rout of visiting Nanticoke.
The Comets opened leads of 21-0 after one quarter, 47-0 at halftime and 61-0 after three quarters.
Crestwood piled up 475 yards and 7 touchdowns rushing on just 27 carries.
Shedlock also hit 2 of 5 passes for 60 yards and the game’s first touchdown, a 17-yarder to Zach Sheloski.
Noah Schultz carried 10 times for 124 yards and 3 touchdowns. Allen Agnon, who carried 4 times for 52 yards, and Robert Knight, who went 28 yards on his only carry, ran for the other touchdowns.
Nick Miscavage scored on an 80-yard kickoff return.
Cole Kakalechik led the Crestwood defense with 11 tackles, including one for a loss, and an assist.
Miscavage recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass. Knight and Schultz also had interceptions.
Crestwood (10-1) won its ninth straight and advanced to host Saturday’s Class 4A semifinal against Berwick (5-6).
