Olivia Williams hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter Tuesday night, helping Hazleton Area take control early in a 57-25 victory over visiting Berwick in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 girls basketball game.
Williams wound up with a game-high 14 points.
Hazleton Area led 18-6 after one quarter and 35-10 at halftime.
Sophia Shults added 11 points and Brianna Kennedy had 10 in the win. Haley Yost hit 3-pointers in each of the first two quarters and finished with eight points.
RaeAnna Andreas led Berwick with 11 points.

Pittston Area 56, Crestwood 31
Daniella Ranieli scored 17 of her game-high 23 points to lead a big first half for the Pittston Area offense as the Lady Patriots held the division lead with the win at Crestwood.
The game was the last of three in which assistant Natalie Winters served as Pittston Area coach in place of head coach Jeff Gregory, who was suspended by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association.
Ranieli had 7 points in the first quarter, then 10 more in the second. The Lady Patriots led 16-4 after one quarter and 35-18 at halftime.
Taylor Baiera went 6-for-6 from the line while scoring her eight points in the first half.
Kallie Booth, who finished with 15 points, scored 8 points in the third quarter as the lead grew to 50-25.
Keira Dougherty led Crestwood with 11 points.
Wilkes-Barre Area 47, Tunkhannock 30
Diamond Thornton scored 13 points to lead visiting Wilkes-Barre Area to victory.
Wilkes-Barre Area moved into a second-place tie with Wyoming Valley West, one game behind Pittston Area. The two teams, both 7-2 in the division, meet at Wyoming Valley West Thursday.
Wilkes-Barre Area’s Eternity Aiken and Tunkhannock’s Erin Van Ness scored 10 points each.
