Saturday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule included six games involving teams with District 2 graduates on their roster or serving as head coach.
Here is a recap of how each did:
RACHAEL ROSE, WOFFORD COLLEGE WOMEN

Wofford (15-6 overall, 5-2 SoCon) won at Samford (11-11 overall, 5-2 SoCon), 79-75.

Wofford placed four players in double figures to secure its seventh road win, the most in the Terriers’ Division I era and tied for the second most in a season in the program’s history. … Two nights after defeating Mercer, the win over Samford is the first time ever that Wofford has swept the Mercer-Samford road trip. … Rose dished out a team-high five assists in the win.

BECKY BURKE, UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO WOMEN

Buffalo (8-9 overall, 3-5 MAC) lost at Akron (14-5 overall, 5-3 MAC), 69-47.
Notes
The University at Buffalo got behind early and struggled offensively against the Zips. … Leading 25-19 at halftime, Akron opened the third quarter on a 7-3 scoring run to extend its lead to 10 points. The Bulls continued to battle and were able to pull within five points with 1:39 remaining in the third quarter. … Akron opened the fourth quarter on a 7-0 run to pull away for the win. … Buffalo made just 17 field goals on the day (17 of 64), the second fewest total this season, while the Zips shot 50.9 percent from the floor, including 11 made 3-pointers.

Isabella King and Emma Shaffer each scored 19 points to tie career-highs as Bucknell scored a season-high 73 points. The Bison also established season-bests in margin of victory (36 points) and opponent’s points scored (37). … Bucknell jumped out to a 26-7 lead after one quarter of play, tying its best output for a quarter this season. …”I thought our passing today was much better than it has been over the year, which led to a good shooting day.” Bucknell head coach Trevor Woodruff said in a recap posted on the university’s athletic website. “Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come.”

Lafayette’s Josh Rivera recorded his first career double-double to help the Leopards battle league leader Colgate to the final minutes. … The Leopards used a 13-2 run late in the first half to give Lafayette its second lead of the game, 29-27. O’Boyle closed the run with a 3-pointer. … The second half saw both teams going back-and-forth. Colgate scored six straight points to tie the game, 55-55, with just under six minutes remaining. The Raiders seized the momentum with a 14-2 run over the final five minutes to close out the win.

It was a tale of two halves for Mount St. Mary’s in its home loss on Winter Homecoming. … The Mountaineers shot 48.3 percent (14 of 29) from the field, including 53.8 percent (7 of 13) from 3-point range in the first half to lead 36-28 at halftime. … The second half was a different story as St. Peter’s outscored The Mount, 47-24. The Peacocks shot 59.1 percent from the field in the second half, including 55.6 percent from behind the arc.

Stonehill shot over 77 percent from the field in the second half to erase a seven-point halftime deficit and win its third-straight Northeast Conference game. …With today’s win, the Skyhawks sit alone in second place in the NEC standings in their inaugural NCAA Division I season. … Stonehill’s Andrew Sims and Isaiah Burnett each scored 23 points. This is the second time this season the Skyhawks had two players score 20 or more points in a game.
