Crestwood completed a regular-season run through the other ranked teams, clinched at least a tie for first place in the Wyoming Valley Conference and settled at the top of the District 2 Class 2A playoff seedings race.
As a result, the Lady Comets remain in the top spot in the latest Riverfront Sports Girls Lacrosse Power Rankings of District 2 teams, which were released late Friday morning.
Crestwood topped Scranton Prep, 18-9, giving it wins over the other four teams in the rankings, all by at least nine goals. They at least doubled each opponent’s goal total and outscored the other ranked teams, 73-29.
Other than that head-to-head meeting, ranked teams were otherwise 7-0 during the week, leading to the rankings again remaining the same as last week.
Crestwood is followed by Abington Heights, Scranton Prep, Dallas and Wyoming Area.
While Crestwood has won seven straight and is on the verge of the WVC title, Abington Heights has won six straight and has the best overall record in District 2 at 13-1.
Crestwood halted Scranton Prep’s district-high winning streak at nine.
Dallas won three times during the week.
Wyoming Area has won four straight.
