The NEPA Elite Clark 17U girls team split its two games Thursday to finish 4-1 in the Select Events Basketball Summer Championships at Spooky Nook Sports in Manheim, Lancaster County.
NEPA Elite defeated Become One GUAA from Canada, 44-35, in a 2022 Division crossover game, then lost to Sports City U from Ohio, 68-49, in a Pool A game.
Sports City U won the four-team pool and NEPA Elite finished second.
Ciera Toomey scored 15 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 3 assists against Become One as NEPA Elite ran its winning streak to 8 games.
Kylie Lavelle added 11 points and 7 rebounds.
Kaci Kranson went 3-for-4 from the floor while scoring 8 points.
Moriah Murray dished out six assists and Maria Belardi five.
Lavelle scored a team-high 12 points and also pulled down a team-leading 5 rebounds in the loss to Sports City U.
Kaeli Romanowski added nine points and two assists.
Toomey had eight points, Trinity Johnson seven and Belardi six. Belardi made both of her 3-point attempts.
Murray and Toomey are also high school teammates at Dunmore. Lavelle is from Riverside, Kranson from Holy Cross, Belardi from Scranton Prep, Romanowski from Western Wayne and Johnson from Wyoming Valley West.
