Abington Heights boys clinch at least a first-place tie in Division 1

Kohen Stiles scored in the 71st minute Monday night as Abington Heights downed visiting Scranton Prep, 1-0, on Senior Night to clinch at least a tie for first place in Lackawanna League Division 1 boys soccer.

The Comets, rated No. 1 among Big Schools in the Riverfront United Super Six Soccer Power Rankings of District 2 teams, improved to 12-0 in the division and 14-1 overall.

Abington Heights leads North Pocono (10-2) by two games with two remaining in the division schedule.

There was no scoring in the first half Friday.

Rob Saunders then assisted Stiles for the game’s only goal.

Abington Heights led 15-7 in shots.

Each team had two corner kicks.

Nick Slusser had five saves in the shutout.

Jackson Keating had eight saves for the Cavaliers.
