Abington Heights teams ranked

Both Abington Heights teams joined in and the Delaware Valley girls moved up in the latest Riverfront Sports Super Six Swimming Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

The new rankings were released Saturday evening. With the sport facing light schedules during the holiday weeks, the one weekend set of rankings replaces midweek sets in each holiday week.

The rankings will return to their regular Wednesday schedule after the New Year, with the next rankings scheduled for Jan. 4.

Delaware Valley remained on top in boys and Dallas did the same in girls after each won their season openers.

The top five boys teams remained the same along with the top three girls teams.

The Delaware Valley boys opened with a 149-7 rout of Valley View then handed a 2-0 West Scranton team a 120-63 defeat.

The Dallas girls handled rival Lake-Lehman 128-42.

Dallas, Wyoming Seminary, Hazleton Area and Tunkhannock follow the Delaware Valley boys.

Abington Heights (2-0) replaces West Scranton as the No. 6 boys team.

Wyoming Seminary and Scranton Prep follow Dallas in the girls rankings.

Delaware Valley moved from fifth to fourth after winning its first two meets by a total of 185 points.

Abington Heights, also 2-0, joined the rankings in fifth.

Tunkhannock dropped from fourth to sixth after escaping its opener with an 87-85 victory over Pittston Area.

Valley View split two meets and fell out of the rankings.
