AH, Crestwood post girls lax wins

Abington Heights and Crestwood posted victories Saturday when four winning Wyoming Valley Conference girls lacrosse teams from a year ago squared off in early-season games.

Freshman Allie Rothenberger rallied Abington Heights past Scranton Prep, 7-6.         

Julia Glowacki scored seven goals and hit a career assist milestone in Crestwood’s 18-5 romp over Delaware Valley.

Scranton Prep led Abington Heights, 4-2, before the Comets scored the last goal of the first half and first four of the second half.

Rothenberger scored three goals, including the one to end the half and the next to create a 4-4 tie.

Casey Healey gave Abington Heights the lead.

Caley Yankow scored her second goal of the game and Bella DeRiggi connected 35 seconds later to make it 7-4 with 6:42 remaining.

Annie Johnson scored three goals and Alexa Kleinberger two for Scranton Prep.

Glowacki assisted two goals in Crestwood’s win, making her the first Lady Comet to post 100 assists in her career.

Isabella Caporuscio, who had four assists, and Hannah Ziegler scored four goals each.

Leah Weinreb scored twice for Delaware Valley.
