Thursday’s NCAA Division I basketball schedule featured four District 2 alumni in action, including two former multi-year, all-state players going head-to-head.
Riverside graduate Kylie Lavelle went against Dunmore’s Victoria Toomey when Lavelle’s Drexel team hosted Rider. It was the college debut for Lavelle while Toomey is a senior serving as a team captain this season. Both players started, often going head-to-head while each finished as her team’s second-leading scorer.
The matchup between former Lackawanna League Division 3 standouts began at the opening tap when they jumped center against each other.
