Saturday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule included four teams with District 2 graduates as players or head coach.

Purdue Fort Wayne (11-6 overall, 3-3 Horizon League) lost to visiting Milwaukee (11-5 overall, 5-1 Horizon League), 74-70

Purdue Fort Wayne’s late comeback fell just short against league-leading Milwaukee. … In a four-minute stretch in the second half, the Mastodons went on a 10-2 run to cut the Panther lead down to four. … Planutis leads Purdue Fort Wayne in 3-point shooting percentage (45.1 percent) and free-throw percentage (95.8 percent).

Stonehill (7-11 overall, 3-1 NEC) defeated visiting Central Connecticut State University (4-14 overall, 2-2 NEC), 51-49.

Stonehill College finished strong, rallying from an eight-point deficit with eight minutes remaining with a turned-up defensive effort, key rebounds, and clutch shooting. … Stonehill went 5-for-8 over the closing 7:49 of play, including 4-for-5 from 3-point range. … Stonehill’s Andrew Sims finished in double figures for the 16th time in 17 games this season.

Buffalo (6-5 overall, 1-1 MAC) defeated visiting Central Michigan (3-10 overall, 1-1 MAC), 70-63

Notes

The University at Buffalo dominated defensively for three quarters and withstood a second-half run by Central Michigan to pick up its first Mid-American Conference win. … Buffalo turned defense into offense once again as it scored 19 points off 13 Central Michigan turnovers and added 16 fastbreak points.
