Wednesday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule included four teams with District 2 graduates on the roster or serving as head coach.

Here is a recap of how each did:

LEO O’BOYLE, LAFAYETTE COLLEGE MEN

Lafayette (4-14 overall, 2-3 Patriot League) won at Navy (8-9 overall, 1-4 Patriot League), 59-50

Started, played 30 minutes; 3/6 FG, 3/3 on 3-pointers, 4/4 FT, 13 points; 1 offensive, 3 defensive, 4 total rebounds; 2 assists; 1 block.

Lafayette outscored Navy, 32-19, in the second half to overcome a four-point halftime deficit. … Lafayette has won its last two games. … O’Boyle is 12-for-21 (57.1 percent) from 3-point range in the last 5 games and 21-for-22 (95.5 percent) from the line in the last 12 games.

NJIT (4-12 overall, 1-2 America East) lost to visiting Binghamton University (6-10 overall, 2-1 America East), 72-71 in overtime

NJIT rallied in the second half, outscoring Binghamton, 40-28, to send the game to overtime. … Binghamton’s Dan Petcash made a 3-pointer with 10 seconds remaining to give Binghamton the lead and Taveion White had a steal as time expired to seal the win.

University at Buffalo (7-5 overall, 2-1 MAC) defeated host Ohio (2-12 overall, 0-3 MAC), 69-64

Notes

Buffalo opened the fourth quarter on a 13-0 scoring run and outscored Ohio, 19-8, in the fourth quarter to overcome a six-point deficit after three quarters. … “We battled through adversity and fought for a full 40 minutes tonight,” head coach Becky Burke said in a recap posted on the university’s athletic website. “I think the difference for us was getting back to what we do defensively for the last 20 minutes.”

CECELIA COLLINS, BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY WOMEN

Bucknell (6-10 overall, 2-3 Patriot League) defeated host Loyola Maryland (7-9 overall, 2-3 Patriot League), 56-50

Bucknell’s Tai Johnson played all 40 minutes and scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Bison to victory. … The Bison shot 48.8 percent (21-for-43) on the evening which is a season-best.
