Thursday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule saw three District 2 graduates in action.

BOBBY PLANUTIS, PURDUE FORT WAYNE MEN

Purdue Fort Wayne (12-6 overall, 4-3 Horizon League) won at IUPUI (3-15 overall, 0-7 Horizon League), 70-55

Started, played 34 minutes; 4/10 FG, 2/6 on 3-pointers, 2/2 FT, 12 points; 2 defensive rebounds; 2 assists; 1 block.

Notes

Planutis was one of three Mastodons to score in double figures. … Purdue Fort Wayne’s Jarred Godfrey finished with 22 points. He now has three straight 20-point games and seven on the season. … Purdue Fort Wayne led, 31-24, at halftime with only three field goals coming from inside the arc.

Wofford could not overcome two fourth-quarter scoring droughts in its loss to Western Carolina. … Tied, 41-41, entering the fourth quarter, Rose connected on a jumper with just over eight minutes remaining. The Terriers did not score again until Rose converted a layup with a little under five minutes remaining. Wofford went scoreless for the next three minutes until Helen Matthews made two free throws. … Rose leads the Terriers in scoring at 15.7 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game. She also has a team-leading 64 assists.
