Friday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule featured two District 2 graduates in action.

Friday’s result

Mount St. Mary’s (6-11 overall, 2-4 MAAC) lost to visiting Manhattan (6-10 overall, 4-3 MAAC), 62-57

Individual statistics

Started, played 39 minutes; 8/16 FG, 2/4 on 3-pointers, 18 points; 4 offensive, 2 defensive, 6 total rebounds; 3 assists; 1 turnover; 1 steal.

Notes

Tinsley’s 18 points are a season-high and his six rebounds tied for team-high. … Mount St. Mary’s saw its offense go cold down the stretch and shot 30.8 percent (8-for-26) from the field in the second half while being outscored, 37-25. … Leading by one early in the second half, the Mount scored seven consecutive points to build a 43-35 lead. Tinsley opened the streak with a jumper and then followed with a three-pointer. … Tinsley scored in the paint with 7:41 remaining in the game to give Mount St. Mary’s a 50-44 lead. From that point, the Mount offense went cold as Manhattan closed the game on an 18-7 run.

Drexel (13-3 overall, 5-0 CAA) defeated host Hampton (5-9 overall, 2-2 CAA), 67-51.

Notes

Drexel overcame a slow start to win its eighth straight game and remain undefeated in Colonial Athletic Association play. … Drexel placed three players in double figures, led by Grace O’Neill’s career-high 19 points. … The Dragons defense forced 20 Hampton turnovers. Drexel shot 92.3 percent (12-for-13) from the free-throw line.
