Friday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule saw two teams featuring District 2 graduates in action.

Mount St. Mary’s (6-13 overall, 2-6 MAAC) lost at Siena (13-6 overall, 7-1 MAAC), 72-57

Mount St. Mary’s led, 38-37, at the half but Siena outscored the Mounts, 35-19, in the second half to pull away for the win. … The first half featured plenty of offense with the biggest lead by either team being six points. … The Mount shot 50 percent (16 of 32) overall and 44.4 percent (4-for-9) from three-point range in the half while the Saints shot 44.4 percent (12 of 27) overall and 40 percent (4-of-10) from three-point range. … Siena sits atop the MAAC standings, one game ahead of Iona.

Stonehill’s Andrew Sims made 11 of 13 field goals and led all scorers with 24 points. … Stonehill shot 59.3 percent (16-of-27) from the field in the first half and led, 45-33, at halftime. …  Long Island University shot nearly 60 percent in the second half, but its 10 turnovers proved costly in the comeback bid.
