Sunday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule saw four teams with District 2 graduates playing.

Here is a recap of how each did:

GEORGE TINSLEY, MOUNT ST. MARY’S MEN

6-foot-6 senior forward from Abington Heights

Sunday’s result

Mount St. Mary’s (7-13 overall, 3-6 MAAC) defeated visiting Marist (7-11 overall, 3-6 MAAC), 59-55

Individual statistics

Started, played 34 minutes; 4/5 FG, 2/3 on 3-pointers, 2/2 FT, 12 points; 3 offensive, 2 defensive, 5 total rebounds; 1 assist; 1 turnover.

Notes

Mount St. Mary’s starting lineup combined to score all 59 points in the victory with 4 of the starters scoring in double figures. … This was the first time in seven games the Mountaineers used the same starting lineup in back-to-back games. … The Mount shot 69.2 percent (9-for-13) from 3-point range, including 6-for-7 in the second half.

DA’MIR FAISON, NEW JERSEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MEN

New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) (5-14 overall, 2-4 America East) lost at Vermont (10-10 overall, 4-2 America East), 85-69

Individual statistics

Came off the bench, played 9 minutes; 2/2 FT, 2 points; 1 defensive rebound; 1 assist; 1 turnover; 1 block; 1 steal.

Notes

Preseason favorite Vermont led 25-16 in the first half before a 10-0 run from NJIT put the Highlanders in front, 26-25, with 5:50 to play in the first half. The run was highlighted by back-to-back 3-pointers from Raheim Sullivan and a fast-break dunk from Mekhi Gray.  NJIT’s leas was short-lived as the Catamounts scored 19 seconds later to take the lead and remained in front for the duration of the contest.

ETHAN MEUSER, STONEHILL COLLEGE MEN

Stonehill (9-13 overall, 5-3 NEC) at Fairleigh Dickinson University (12-10 overall, 5-2 NEC), 70-59

Stonehill used a strong second half to win the rematch with Fairleigh Dickinson. … Stonehill was held to just 19 points in the first half, but outscored Fairleigh Dickinson, 51-28, in the second half. … Fairleigh Dickinson defeated Stonehill, 65-57, Monday.

KYLIE LAVELLE, DREXEL UNIVERSITY WOMEN

Drexel (13-5 overall, 5-2 CAA) lost at Towson (11-7 overall, 5-2 CAA), 70-61

Started, played 18 minutes; 2/5 FG, 4 points; 3 defensive rebounds; 1 assist; 2 turnovers.

Notes

Trailing 16-12 after one quarter, Towson jumped on top early in the second, going on a 15-7 scoring run during the first seven minutes of the quarter. Drexel responded with a 9-0 run to take a 32-29 halftime lead. … Drexel started out quick in the second half and built a 36-29 lead, which was quickly erased when the Tigers went on a 19-6 run in the final eight minutes of the third quarter to take a 48-42 lead after three quarters.
