Wednesday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule included six games involving teams with District 2 graduates on the roster or serving as head coach.

LEO O’BOYLE, LAFAYETTE COLLEGE MEN

6-foot-7 senior forward from Scranton Prep

Wednesday’s result

Lafayette (7-15 overall, 5-4 Patriot League) defeated visiting Loyola, Md. (7-15 overall, 2-7 Patriot League), 62-46.

Individual statistics

Started, played 33 minutes; 6/10 FG, 3/6 on 3-pointers, 3/5 FT, 18 points; 9 defensive rebounds; 2 assists; 3 steals.

Notes

O’Boyle led all scorers with 18 points, shooting 60 percent from the floor. … Lafayette went on a 14-0 run late in the first half to lead, 39-24, at the break. O’Boyle led the run with eight points on a pair of 3-pointers and a pair of free throws.

DA’MIR FAISON, NEW JERSEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MEN

New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) (6-14 overall, 3-4 America East) defeated visiting Maryland-Baltimore County (14-8 overall, 4-3 America East), 69-65.

Came off the bench, played 10 minutes; 2/3 FG, 2/2 FT, 6 points; 1 offensive, 3 defensive, 4 total rebounds; 1 turnover.

Mekhi Gray converted a layup with 3.7 seconds on the clock to break a 65-65 tie and lift the Highlanders to a win. … The game featured 8 lead changes and 10 ties as UMBC scored the first 12 points of the second half to tie the game. … Neither team led by more than four points over the final 18 minutes of play.

BOBBY PLANUTIS, PURDUE FORT WAYNE MEN

Deonte Billups scored a career-high 26 points and Jarred Godfrey added 22 points to lead Purdue Fort Wayne over IUPUI. … Tied, 40-40, at halftime, the Mastodons led by as many as 11 points in the second half, only to see IUPUI cut it to 74-72 with just over one minute to play.

The University of Hartford shot 60 percent from the floor in the second half to claim the victory in a non-conference matchup. … Hartford outscored Stonehill, 42-21, in the second half, holding the Skyhawks to 32 percent shooting (8-for-25) from the field, including 30 percent (3-for-10) from 3-point range.

Buffalo (8-8 overall, 3-4 MAC) lost to visiting Bowling Green (17-2 overall, 6-1 MAC), 64-61.

Following a great defensive effort in which Buffalo held Bowling Green to 18 points below its scoring average, the Bulls could not get a shot off on their final possession to extend the game. … Buffalo shot 50 percent from the floor on the night and matched Bowling Green in the paint with 42 points. … “I am so proud of this team,” Burke said, according to a recap posted on the university’s athletic website. “They come out and believe they have a chance to win every single night.”

Bucknell scored a season-high 46 points in the second half to overcome a 10-point halftime deficit. … The Bisons defense held Navy to 18 points in the second half, which is a season-low for Bucknell opponents. … With the win over Navy, the Bison improve to 44-30 all-time against the Midshipmen and 5-1 against the Midshipmen under head coach Trevor Woodruff.
