Thursday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule saw the teams of three District 2 graduates playing.
Here is a recap of how each did:
RACHAEL ROSE, WOFFORD COLLEGE WOMEN

Wofford (16-7 overall, 6-3 SoCon) lost to visiting UNC Greensboro (11-13 overall, 4-6 SoCon), 68-64

Started, played 36 minutes; 5/13 FG, 2/6 on 3-pointers, 7/8 FT, 19 points; 2 offensive, 5 defensive, 7 total rebounds; 1 assist; 2 turnovers; 1 block.
Notes
Rose’s 19 points were a game-high and she tied for the team lead in rebounds. … Wofford used a 21-15 third-quarter advantage to lead, 52-48, heading to the final quarter. UNC Greensboro outscored the Terriers, 20-12, in the fourth quarter to secure the victory. … Rose led Wofford’s third-quarter charge, scoring the Terriers’ first 9 points and finishing with 12 points in the quarter.

VICTORIA TOOMEY, RIDER UNIVERSITY WOMEN

Rider (6-17 overall, 3-11 MAAC) won at Marist (10-12 overall, 6-7 MAAC), 60-54.

Trailing 22-14 at the end of one quarter, Rider outscored the Red Foxes, 46-32, over the final three quarters to secure the win. … Rider used a 12-0, third-quarter run to give the Broncos their first lead of the game. … Five of Rider’s six wins this season have come on the road.

Merrimack College outscored Stonehill, 35-23, in the second half to pull away for the victory. … The loss snaps Stonehill’s five-game Northeast Conference (NEC) winning streak. … Merrimack’s defense held the Skyhawks leading scorer, Andrew Sims to four points. … Stonehill seeks to become the fourth first-year team, and just the second transitioning Division I program, to capture the NEC regular-season championship and first since Merrimack did so in its first NCAA Division I season in 2019-20.
