Sunday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule saw three District 2 graduates playing.
Here is a recap of how each did:
GEORGE TINSLEY, MOUNT ST. MARY’S MEN
6-foot-6 senior forward from Abington Heights

Mount St. Mary’s (10-18 overall, 6-11 MAAC) defeated visiting Canisius (7-19 overall, 5-12 MAAC), 75-74
Individual statistics
Started, played 29 minutes; 4/7 FG, 2/3 on 3-pointers, 1/1 FT, 11 points; 3 offensive, 1 defensive, 4 total rebounds; 1 assist.
Notes
Trailing 33-29 at halftime, Canisius scored the first basket of the second half. Tinsley responded by making back-to-back 3-pointers to tie the score. It was one of 7 ties in a second half that also included 11 lead changes. … Canisius held a 59-58 advantage with just under five minutes remaining. The Mount responded with a 6-0 run. Tinsley closed the run with a traditional three-point play and a 64-59 lead with 3:27 on the clock. … Tinsley was one of four Mountaineers to score in double figures. He had 9 of his 11 points after halftime.

BOBBY PLANUTIS, PURDUE FORT WAYNE MEN

Purdue Fort Wayne (16-13 overall, 8-10 Horizon League) defeated visiting Wright State (16-13 overall, 9-9 Horizon League), 77-75

Started, played 28 minutes; 3/4 FG, 1/2 on 3-pointers, 7 points; 2 defensive rebounds; 1 steal.
Notes
Purdue Fort Wayne’s Damian Chong Qui made a buzzer-beater from just past mid-court to defeat Wright State. Chong Qui’s shot came after Wright State’s Trey Calvin put the Raiders up one, 75-74, with 2.8 seconds remaining. It was Wright State’s only lead of the game. … Planutis was one of four Mastodons honored prior to the game as part of Senior Day festivities.

KYLIE LAVELLE, DREXEL UNIVERSITY WOMEN

Notes
Drexel’s Keishana Washington scored 40 points. She is the first player in the NCAA this season with three games of 40 or more points. … Drexel attacked the basket early and often in the first quarter. The Dragons got to the free throw line 13 times, making 12. … The Dragons began to pull away in the third quarter, holding Delaware to 4-for-13 shooting and held a 54-43 lead heading to the final quarter.
