Mount St. Mary’s (10-19 overall, 6-12 MAAC) lost to visiting Iona (21-7 overall, 14-3 MAAC), 80-68

Notes

Iona used a strong second half, outscoring Mount St. Mary’s, 49-32, to overcome a five-point halftime deficit for its eighth straight win. The win reduced the Gaels’ magic number to clinch the No. 1 seed in the MAAC tournament to two. … Mount St. Mary’s struggled in the second half, shooting 40 percent (8-of-20) from the field, including 16.7 percent (1-of-6) from 3-point range.

Drexel turned in one of its best defensive efforts of the season as the Dragons won their 20th game of the year. … The 34 points was the lowest point total allowed this season by Drexel and the second time this year holding an opponent under 40 points. … Drexel’s bench played a big role in the game, scoring 23 points with 7 rebounds and 7 steals.
