Tuesday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule featured three District 2 alumni in action.

KYLIE LAVELLE, DREXEL UNIVERSITY WOMEN

LaSalle (3-1) defeated visiting Drexel (1-1), 77-74, in a City 6 matchup.

Lavelle was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 13. Her 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals against Rider led to the honor. … Drexel trailed 66-58 with 6:31 remaining but scored the next eight points. Lavelle had four points and two rebounds in the 10-2 run, including the putback for a 66-66 tie. … LaSalle won when Kayla Spruill beat a double-team for a three-point play with 2.1 seconds remaining to break a tie.

GEORGE TINSLEY, MOUNT ST. MARY’S MEN

Mount St. Mary’s (1-2) won its home opener over McDaniel (2-1), 60-38.

Trailing 35-16 in the first half, Stonehill scored 10 unanswered points to cut the lead to single digits but the Friars endured a three-minute scoring drought. … Providence outrebounded Stonehill, 40-19.
