Bucknell’s Emma Shaffer recorded her 10th career double-double with a career-high 24 points and 11 rebounds as the Bison clinched the No. 6 seed in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament. … Bucknell took its first lead since early in the third quarter on a three-point play by Collins with 4:59 to play. The Bison took the lead for good on a Tai Johnson jumper with 2:57 left. … Bucknell shot 51 percent from the field and make 16 of 22 free throws in the win.

For the second straight game the University at Buffalo faced a win-or-go-home situation. With the win, the Bulls now control their own destiny as a win on Saturday would punch their ticket to the Mid-American Conference Tournament. … Buffalo opened the game on a 14-3 run and led, 21-10, after the first quarter. … Akron’s 50 points were the second-fewest allowed by the Bulls this season. … ”The fight this team has continued to show this year was put on display 40 minutes tonight.” Burke said in a recap posted on the university’s athletic website. “That was one of our best defensive efforts of the year when we needed it the most.”
