Kylie Lavelle was the only District 2 graduate on the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule Friday.

Drexel, the No. 2 seed (21-9), lost to Monmouth, the No. 7 seed (16-15), 65-59 in a Colonial Athletic Association Tournament quarterfinal game.

Drexel’s Keishana Washington scored 32 points to become the NCAA all-time leading scorer among Canadian players, but the Dragons suffered a heartbreaking loss in the CAA quarterfinals. …Trailing, 29-24 at halftime, Drexel started strong in the third quarter. Washington opened the scoring with a layup before Lavelle scored the next nine points for the Dragons, giving them a 35-34 advantage with 6:05 remaining in the quarter. Both teams went back and forth for the remainder of the quarter and the Hawks held a five-point advantage heading to the final quarter. … Drexel continued to battle and pulled to within one point with 47 seconds remaining on a Lavelle layup. Monmouth did not give up the lead, however, going 7-for-8 on free throws down the stretch. … Earlier in the week, Lavelle was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team.
