Jefferson, the No. 3 seed (28-5) lost to Assumption, the No. 1 seed (27-5), 62-57 in the East Region championship.

Assumption rallied in the fourth quarter, outscoring Jefferson 19-8 to advance to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Women’s Division II Basketball Tournament. … The Rams opened the game by scoring the first 11 points and held a 15-8 lead at the end of one quarter of play. … Jefferson’s Haley Meinel and Morgan Robinson were named to the NCAA East Regional All-Tournament Team. … The 18 rebounds were a career-high for Yencha, who averaged 11.3 points and 14.0 rebounds for the NCAA Tournament. … For the season, Yencha led the Rams with 10.5 rebounds per game. She had 141 offensive and 206 defensive rebounds.
