Two District 2 graduates were frequent starters in the infield on a Penn State Harrisburg softball team that had a .500 season.
Kaylee DeMatteo from Abington Heights and Sarah Coolbaugh from Wyoming Area, both seniors, were part of a Penn State Harrisburg team that finished 13-13-1.
The Lions were 11-9-1 in the Pennsylvania State Universities Athletic Conference with the help of a .348 team batting average.
DeMatteo, a third baseman, had the second-highest average among regulars. She batted .459 with 11 RBI in 20 games. She had two doubles, a homer and seven runs scored.
Coolbaugh batted .329 in 22 games with 4 doubles, 11 runs scored and 12 RBI.
