Bath leading AH cross country

DUNMORE – Abington Heights is opening its boys and girls cross country seasons this afternoon in Bethlehem with Ed Bath serving as interim coach, in place of Mike Ludka.

Bath, an English teacher in the Abington Heights School District, took over the team during the preseason, pending his potential appointment to the position at the next school board meeting.

Abington Heights is the defending District 2 Class 3A champion in both boys and girls. It did not compete in the league last season because it was operating under a modified start format as a COVID-19 adjustment that was different from other league members.

Bath represented the program at Thursday night’s preseason meeting of Lackawanna League cross country coaches at Dunmore High School.

The Comets are beginning their season at the Lions Invitational at Moravian Academy.
