Berwick girls join rankings

The ranked boys teams and top five girls teams combined to go 13-0 in the past week, leading to minimal movement in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Swimming Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

When the latest rankings were released Wednesday afternoon, Berwick replaced Elk Lake in the sixth girls spot after the Lady Warriors lost to No. 4 Delaware Valley.

The other 11 spots remained the same.

Top teams will not all be able to get through the next week unscathed.

Wyoming Seminary, which has the No. 3 boys team and No. 2 girls team, has two meets each against ranked opponents.

The Blue Knights go to Dallas Friday to face the Mountaineers, who have the top-ranked girls team and second-ranked boys team.

First, Wyoming Seminary has a Wednesday 5 p.m. meet at the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center. The Blue Knights face Holy Redeemer, which has the No. 6 boys team, in Wyoming Valley Conference meets that will begin reducing the list of conference unbeatens.

Wyoming Seminary and Holy Redeemer will also take on No. 3 Scranton Prep in what will be a triple-dual on the girls side.

All six ranked boys teams and the top four girls teams are unbeaten.

Dallas and Wyoming Seminary trail No. 1 Delaware Valley in the boys rankings.

Tunkhannock, Abington Heights and Holy Redeemer complete the rankings.

As the top two girls teams get set to meet Friday, they are followed in the rankings by Scranton Prep, Delaware Valley and Abington Heights.
