Connor Cranage and Carson Gallagher each scored 16 points to lead a balanced attack as Blue Ridge defeated Elk Lake, 62-57, Saturday in a District 2 Class 2A boys basketball semifinal.
The Raiders won all four meetings with the Warriors this season. After replacing Elk Lake as Lackawanna League Division 4 champion, Blue Ridge has now taken away a spot in the Class 2A final at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza where the Warriors played the last two seasons.
Blue Ridge (20-3) makes it first appearance at the arena when it takes on defending champion Holy Cross (18-5).
Cranage also grabbed 10 rebounds.
J.J. Rosa had 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.
Dalton Rutter chipped in with 10 points.
Cranage scored eight points and Rosa hit two 3-pointers while Blue Ridge was taking a 21-16 lead after one quarter.
Elk Lake closed within 35-32 at halftime.
The teams combined for just 11 points in the third quarter before 41 in the wild fourth quarter.
The Raiders held the Warriors to three points in the third quarter for a 43-35 lead.
Dawson Sherman hit four 3-pointers for Elk Lake in the fourth quarter. He had one other for a team-high 15 points.
Brayden McMicken added 12 points and Logan Ayotte 11 for Elk Lake.
