Parker Bolesta led a 366-yard Dallas ground game Friday night that carried the Mountaineers to a 41-14 victory over visiting Crestwood in a Wyoming Valley Conference Class 4A Division football game that was also a rematch of last season’s District 2 Class 4A title game.

Bolesta carried 20 times for 198 yards and 3 of the team’s first 4 touchdowns.

Jackson Wydra ran for the other and threw for 118 yards in the first half.

The Mountaineers scored on their first three possessions for a 20-0 halftime lead that they extended to 34-0 by the first minute of the fourth quarter.

Dallas avenged a 34-14 loss in last year’s district championship game to post its third straight win and improve to 5-2.

The Mountaineers scored on their first three possessions and reached the Comets 16 before the half ended.

The first drive covered 80 yards in 7 plays off the opening kickoff.

Wydra went 3-for-3 for 38 yards in the drive while Bolesta carried 4 times for 47 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown.

The Mountaineers made it 13-0 after one quarter with another 80-yard scoring drive, this one covering 12 plays. Wydra completed passes to convert two third downs and Bolesta scored from the 4.

Crestwood put together its first threat on the next drive, but Joe Peters intercepted a fourth-down pass and returned it 26 yards to midfield.

On fourth-and-one, Crestwood appeared to have a quarterback sneak stuffed before Wydra slipped out of the pile and went 41 yards for the touchdown to make it 20-0 with 7:32 left in the half.

Crestwood got as close as the Dallas 24 on the ensuing possession before two penalties led to the Comets turning the ball over on downs.

Wydra hit four straight passes to start the last drive of the half, making him 10-for-13 to that point, but his last attempt went incomplete as time expired.

Dallas held the ball for 13 plays on its first drive of the second half and moved 66 yards to Bolesta’s last touchdown and a 27-0 lead with 4:03 left in the third quarter.

Freshman Dylan Geskey ran for 95 yards on 12 carries and scored the last two Dallas touchdowns.

Geskey went off the left side and wound up winning a race to the right corner for a 62-yard touchdown on the next Mountaineers offensive play, 27 seconds into the fourth quarter.

Crestwood broke the shutout and added a second touchdown less than three minutes later to get within 34-14 before Geskey’s 2-yard touchdown closed the scoring.

Noah Schultz, who followed up a 305-yard game by leading Crestwood with 153 yards on 16 carries, broke off a 77-yard touchdown run.

Jason Swank threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Brendan Dennis.

Crestwood (2-6) moved the ball one last time, reaching the Dallas 21 where the game ended.
