Danny Nemitz finished strong to wind up with 34 points Tuesday night as host Mid Valley rallied past Old Forge, 72-61, in a Lackawanna League Division 3 boys basketball game between teams also jockeying for seeding position in the District 2 Class 3A playoffs.
Joey Macciocco started fast, helping Old Forge build a double-figures lead and finished with 27 points.
Ricky Vinansky added 21 points for the Spartans.
Tyler Pepsin had 12 for the Blue Devils.
Mid Valley, which is second in both races, improved to 5-1 in the division and 12-3 overall. Old Forge dropped to 2-4 and 10-4.
The Spartans are third and the Blue Devils are fifth among Small Schools in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Basketball Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

Riverside 63, Lakeland 42
Connor McNally scored 17 points to lead Riverside past visiting Lakeland.
Connor Monahan added 14 points and Matthew Godlewski had 13.
Dunmore 64, Carbondale 52
Cal Talutto and Max Forgione scored 16 points each to lead host Dunmore.
The Bucks, who opened a 37-20 halftime lead, have gone 3-2 since a 3-7 start.
