Scranton Prep had an answer for Jake Holbert’s 40-point game.
The Cavaliers ran off 23 straight points in a span of just 4½ minutes Friday night to erase a 17-point deficit and defeat visiting Wallenpaupack, 62-61, in a Lackawanna League Division 1-2 boys basketball crossover.
Scranton Prep scored the last six points of the third quarter and the first 20 of the fourth to move in front, 52-46, with five minutes left, then held on from there.
The Cavaliers had scored 12 points in a span of nearly 15 minutes before breaking loose for 33 over the final 9½ minutes.
Scranton Prep went inside to pull out the win. Keith Pritchyk and Ambrose Rossi led the way with 14 and 13 points.
The Cavaliers were part of the second 3-0 sweep of the week by Division 1 teams over Division 2 opponents.

Tony Battaglia led the way with 13 points for Scranton, which also overcame a double-digits, second-half deficit.
Oliver Almonte added 12 points in the win.

Eli Yusavage scored 18 points to lead three Cougars in double figures.
Taheed Jewell added 14 and L.V. Pegula had 11.
Abington Heights 72, West Scranton 53
Abington Heights used a consistent offense to win the only Lackawanna Division 1 game of the night.
The Comets scored 18 points in each of the quarters.
Ryan Nealon led the way with 20 points, 16 of which came in the first half.
Robby Lucas added 18 points and Mason Fedor had 14.
Tristan Lee led West Scranton with 16 points. Evan Laybourne-Boddie had 13.
