Connor Cranage was not wasting any time.
The Blue Ridge junior controlled the ball off the opening tip got to within about 26 feet of the basket and fired away.
The ball was through the net, giving Blue Ridge a 3-0 lead and Cranage 1,000 career points, just six seconds into Tuesday night’s Lackawanna League Division 4 boys basketball game at Blue Ridge.
Cranage scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Blue Ridge remained within a half-game of first-place Forest City going into Friday’s showdown by beating Susquehanna, 63-50.
Cranage, last season’s NEPABasketball.com Division 4 Player of the Year, was 12-for-16 from the foul line and added two more 3-pointers.
Dylan Bradley chipped in with 12 points and 15 rebounds.
J.T. Burke led Susquehanna with 19 points while Colton Stone added 17.

Jackson Gesford’s late basket lifted sixth-place Mountain View over third-place Montrose.
Gesford had 7 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter.
