BOYS ROUNDUP: Raiders, Sabers, Foresters, take Division 4 games

Blue Ridge turned a game to break a second-place tie in Lackawanna League Division 4 into the biggest blowout on a full night of boys basketball in District 2.

Pressure defense by the Raiders smothered visiting Montrose early, sending Blue Ridge on its way to a 58-23 rout.

Connor Cranage led the way for Blue Ridge with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 steals.

Dylan Bradley added 9 points and 12 rebounds.

J.J. Rosa dished out 10 assists and Carson Gallagher matched Cranage’s 6 steals.

Cranage did all of his scoring in the first half as Blue Ridge built leads of 26-4 after one quarter and 45-9 at halftime.

Four players scored at least five points each in the first quarter. Cranage scored 11 in the second.

Playing under the running clock of the Mercy Rule, Blue Ridge then shut out Montrose in the third quarter to take a 49-9 lead into the fourth.

Sam Stashko and Lukas Cokely led Montrose with nine points each.

Susquehanna 57, Lackawanna Trail 31

Colton Stone scored 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as host Susquehanna won its second in a row after opening the season with 13 straight losses.

J.T. Burke had 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Matthew Callender grabbed 11 rebounds and Cooper Payne scored 9 points while dishing out 8 assists.

The Sabers overcame a 3-for-15 game from the line.

Stone had 11 points in the third quarter when Susquehanna expanded its lead from 27-15 to 42-23.

Jake Antolick led the Lions with 10 points.

Forest City 64, Elk Lake 46

Forest City got at least 15 points from a trio of players while remaining unbeaten in the division with the victory over the defending champions.

Dylan Bezek (18), Max Urbas (17) and D.J. Heath (15) provided the offense for the host Foresters.

Wyatt Casselbury led Elk Lake with 15 points.
