Bucks take over No. 1 with title

Dunmore used a 4-2 victory over Holy Cross in Thursday night’s Lackawanna League Division 2 playoff game to take over the No. 1 Small School boys spot in the Riverfront United Super Six Soccer Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

With the regular season winding down – District 2 set its postseason pairings Thursday morning – the schedule was generally light, leading to minimal movement in the rankings, which were released following the playoff game. Six ranked teams did not play in the past week.

Dallas is the top seed in the District 2 Class 3A playoffs. The Mountaineers will play Hazleton Area Friday afternoon at Berwick.
