EDITOR’S NOTE: Lackawanna League Divisions 1 and 2 girls basketball finished its season Monday night while Divisions 3 and 4 were on their next-to-last playing date. While NEPASportsNation.com compiles more complete reports, here is a quick recap of the night’s most important developments.

COVINGTON TWP. – Wallenpaupack forced a playoff while Dunmore and Montrose each avoided one.
Ella Smith scored 23 points Monday night as Wallenpaupack forced a first-place tie in the final Lackawanna League Division 2 girls basketball standings by avenging an earlier loss with a 53-43 victory over host North Pocono.
Dunmore wrapped up its 10th straight Lackawanna Division 3 title with a 61-24 rout of visiting Old Forge while Montrose claimed its third straight title in Lackawanna Division 4 by pounding Forest City, 65-14.
Wallenpaupack and North Pocono each finished 10-3 in the Lackawanna League.
Grace Steffen added 10 points and 8 rebounds while Paulina Schmidt had 8 points and 12 rebounds for the Lady Buckhorns.
Freshman Celia DeCesare scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, 8 of them on the offensive end, to lead North Pocono.
Ciera Toomey scored 13 of her season-high 15 points in the first half when Dunmore opened a 36-13 lead on Old Forge.
Freshman Jackie Brown had 10 of her 12 points in the first half.
Mia Snyder scored 20 points for Montrose, which led 25-4 after one quarter and 47-4 at halftime.
Scranton Prep, which had already wrapped up the Division 1 title, completed its sixth straight 13-0 Lackawanna League season, running its winning streak to 80 withstanding a challenge to win at Valley View, 54-41.
Bella Dennebaum scored 16 points and Claire McGrath added 10 for the Classics.
