Quenten Palermo scored three touchdowns and six Scranton Prep teammates reached the end zone Friday night as the host Cavaliers pounded winless Lake-Lehman, 63-6, at Scranton Memorial Stadium.
The Cavaliers, who won their second straight since an opening loss, scored three touchdowns in the first seven minutes, five in the first quarter and seven in the first half.
Scranton Prep piled up more than 300 yards rushing and more than 400 total offense despite attempting just two passes.
The Cavaliers forced four turnovers without committing any. They scored off one of those turnovers and on a punt return during the early flurry.
Palermo’s three touchdowns all came from four yards or fewer.
After Palermo opened the scoring, Liam Barrett returned a punt for the next score and Mick O’Malley made it 21-0 with a pick six.
Gavin Wallace found Gavin Paraschak with a 10-yard touchdown pass for Lake-Lehman, but Scranton Prep added two more touchdowns for a 35-6 lead after one quarter.
Palermo ran for another score and Sean Monahan hit Tae Weeks for a 33-yard touchdown pass during the quarter.
Following Palermo’s third touchdown, Trayvon Dickey ran 14 yards for the score that made it 49-6 at halftime.
Louis Paris ran 66 yards and Sam DeNaples ran 30 yards for touchdowns to increase the lead to 63-6 before the midway point in the third quarter.
