Cavaliers use state win to return

Scranton Prep’s continued success in its limited competition against other Small Schools allowed the Cavaliers to return to the Riverfront Sports Super Six Baseball Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

The Cavaliers rejoined the Small School rankings in sixth place for the only change this week. The ratings were released early Monday afternoon, prior to the state semifinals.

That was the only change in the rankings following two rounds of state play. Scranton Prep reached the Class 3A quarterfinals before being eliminated.

Three teams remain alive in state play.

Big School No. 4 Wyoming Area is in the Class 4A tournament. The Big School rankings are for Class 6A, 5A and 4A teams.

Riverside, an unbeaten Class 2A semifinalist, and Lake-Lehman, a Class 3A semifinalist, are 1-2 in the Small School rankings.
