Scranton Prep claimed sole possession of first place in Lackawanna League girls tennis Tuesday.
The Classics locked it up Wednesday.
Scranton Prep posted 5-0 victories over both Holy Cross and Western Wayne to complete its league schedule with a 14-0 record and win its 10th Lackawanna title in 13 seasons.
The team won three times in the last two days of its regular-season schedule. Scranton Prep defeated Abington Heights, 4-1, in a meeting of unbeaten teams Tuesday.
Both of District 2’s unbeaten girls tennis teams are in Class 2A where the Classics appear headed for a showdown with defending state champion Wyoming Seminary.
Delaware Valley was the only other team to take a point off Scranton Prep during the season. While the Classics have shut out 12 of 14 opponents, the defending champion Blue Knights have blanked 10.
