Giada Costa led a second-quarter surge that carried Valley View past visiting Old Forge, 54-30, Saturday afternoon in a non-league girls basketball game between teams that started the day on three-game winning streaks.
The loss was the first of the season by Old Forge. Valley View improved to 4-1.
The Cougars led 10-7, then went on an 18-2 run to begin the second quarter.
Costa scored all 15 of her points in the first half, including 10 in the second quarter when Valley View opened a 35-11 halftime lead.
Lucy Loftus added 10 points for Valley View.
Ava Gazoo chipped in with eight points, Paige Rudalavage seven and Molly Murphy six.
Lauryn Olivieri scored 14 points and Talia Piragas added 7 for Old Forge.
