Crestwood, AH 1-2 into meeting

Abington Heights won a battle of the last two unbeatens in District 2 to set up a game between the last two teams with unbeaten Wyoming Valley Conference records.

The Comets used their win over Dallas to climb one spot and set up a No. 1-vs.-No. 2 battle Saturday.

Abington Heights reached No. 2 behind Crestwood when the latest Riverfront Sports Girls Lacrosse Power Rankings of District 2 teams were released Friday morning.

Defending Wyoming Valley Conference and District 2 Class 2A champion Crestwood remains No. 1 in the rankings heading into Saturday’s 10 a.m. game at Abington Heights.

Abington Heights went from third to second by winning three more games, starting with an 18-12 victory over Dallas.

The loss to Abington Heights is the only one by Dallas, which dropped one spot to third after winning its other two games.

Another swap took place at the bottom of the five-deep rankings.

Scranton Prep won twice, including 16-8 over Wyoming Area, to trade places with the Lady Warriors, moving from fifth to fourth.
