Crestwood climbs to fourth

Movement was minimal in this week’s Riverfront Sports Super Six Girls Tennis Power Rankings of District 2 teams, released Saturday evening following the conclusion of the day’s competition.

Crestwood moved up to fourth among Big Schools, trading places with Wallenpaupack, which drops to fifth.

Delaware Valley moved into the rankings in sixth, knocking out Hazleton Area.

The Small School rankings are unchanged.

Abington Heights and Riverside continue to lead the rankings.

Abington Heights is the top Big School team at 6-0 with six 5-0 victories. The Comets beat Honesdale, Valley View and Wallenpaupack in the past week.

North Pocono is second and West Scranton third. North Pocono lost to unbeaten Scranton Prep in a 1-1 week and West Scranton went 2-0.

Crestwood posted three 5-0 victories during the week to improve to 5-1 and gain a spot.

Wallenpaupack lost to the two No. 1 teams.

Delaware Valley is 2-3 with two of the losses coming to unbeaten teams.

Riverside won twice to get to 5-0 and hold the top Small School spot.

Scranton Prep is second, followed by Wyoming Seminary, Dallas, Holy Cross and Holy Redeemer.

The six ranked Small School teams combined to go 12-1 against other teams during the week. There was also one match in which ranked teams went against each other with Dallas defeating Holy Redeemer.
